On May 1st, the shoot for the 'One Night Stand' film 'Mijn Marko' started at ROC Waterland in Amsterdam North. The film is directed by Sara Verweij and the screenplay was written by Evianne Lamme.

The film is about fifteen-year-old Esmee, who starts dating Marko. For the first time, she feels that someone truly loves her and feels safe in life. When it turns out that Marko is anything but safe, Esmee refuses to see it. 'My Marko' is a film about a girl who does whatever it takes to maintain her newly acquired sense of safety. About being blind out of self-preservation.

The lead roles are played by Lisa Smit ('Shocking Blue', 'TBS'), Vanja Rukavina (3rd year at the Maastricht Academy of Dramatic Arts), and Isis Cabolet ('Lellebelle', 'Sekjoeritie').
Waterland Film is also producing the 'One Night Stand' film 'Lang zal ze leven' this year, by director Mannin de Wildt and screenwriter Nynke de Jong. The film is about Marta, who ends up in a wheelchair. She seizes the opportunity of a boat trip to put an end to her worthless life, but cheerful volunteers and quirky disabled people on board constantly get in her way.

Shooting starts on May 17 and will largely take place on a boat located in Amsterdam. The cast includes Sanne Vogel ('Floor Faber', 'Annie MG'), Charlie Dagelet ('Lellebelle', 'Loft'), and Ilke Paddenburg (4th-year ArtEZ drama school student), among others.

One Night Stand is a joint initiative of the broadcasters NTR, VARA, and VPRO, the Media Fund, the Netherlands Film Fund, and the CoBO Fund. Every year, One Night Stand offers new filmmakers the chance to make a fifty-minute film and thereby develop their talent. This year, eight films are being produced that will premiere at the Netherlands Film Festival in Utrecht. In the autumn of 2011, the films will be broadcast by NTR, VARA, and VPRO.

Waterland Film previously produced feature films including 'Nachtrit' and 'Shocking Blue'. The shoot for the Cinema Junior feature film 'Kauw' by Boudewijn Koole will start in mid-May. The feature film 'Rundskop' will be in Dutch cinemas from May 26.
