Television producer Tuvalu Media and film producer Waterland Film are going to work together. The first project of this collaboration is already there: the 10-part youth drama series 'De Vier van Westwijk' by screenwriter Manon Spierenburg and director Barbara Bredero for AVRO television on youth channel Zapp, now in preparation for broadcast in 2012. There are many other plans in stack.
This was announced today by the boards of both companies. The bundling combines Tuvalu's expertise in the field of entertainment and infotainment for television with the success of Waterland Film in the field of feature film and television drama.

Taco Zimmerman of Tuvalu Media: 'Producing films and drama series has been in our thinking since the company was founded. We see that dream come true through the collaboration with a renowned party such as Waterland Film. We are very excited and confident to continue existing productions and get new creations off the ground together with our new Waterland colleagues.'

Jan van der Zanden of Waterland Film: 'The collaboration with Tuvalu is an important expansion of our network for us. The joining of forces stimulates both parties. We get in touch with new makers and we get more scope. For Waterland, this is an attractive prospect and a valuable impulse for our film and drama productions. The important thing about this collaboration is that we will continue to make what we are good at, which includes artistic films and special youth films.'

With the collaboration, both companies strengthen their position in the Netherlands, but also internationally. The collaboration is in line with Tuvalu Media's ambition to also spread its wings in the field of television drama and Waterland's plans to carry out more and larger international feature film productions.

Recent productions from Tuvalu Media are 'Queen and I', 'Who is my father' and 'Ali B' at full speed. Waterland Film is the producer of films such as 'Nachtrit', 'Shocking Blue' and 'Rundskop' and the drama series 'The secrets of Barslet'.
