Onder Ons, the feature film debut of director Marco van Geffen based on a screenplay by Jolein Laarman, has been selected for the 64th edition of the Locarno International Film Festival. The film is screening in the main competition, Concorso Internazionale, and is competing for the Golden Leopards.

Onder Ons is about Ewa, a somewhat introverted Polish au pair, who finds herself in a spiral of doubt and isolation when she believes she knows who the rapist is who is terrorizing the provincial town where she lives. Ewa is played by the young Polish actress Dagmara Bak. The other roles are played by Golden Calf winner Rifka Lodeizen, Guy Clemens, Reinout Bussemaker, and the Polish actress Natalia Rybicka.

Marco van Geffen writes screenplays and directed several short films, including *Het Zusje*, for which he secured a Golden Palm nomination at the Cannes Film Festival in 2007. Jolein Laarman wrote scripts for *Broos*, *Tussenstand* (Jury Special Mention at the Locarno Film Festival 2007), and *Het Zusje van Katia* (Golden Calf for Best Screenplay at the Netherlands Film Festival 2008).

The film is the first part of a trilogy of three feature films titled Vinex, which Marco van Geffen is making about 'the drama of the happy family'. Onder Ons is produced by Lemming Film and the Buddhist Broadcasting Foundation. The film was financed with support from the Netherlands Film Fund.

The Locarno International Film Festival takes place from August 3 to 13. The world premiere of Among Us, the international title, is on Wednesday, August 10. International sales are handled by the French sales agent Elle Driver.

Film distributor Cineart releases the film in Dutch cinemas on November 10, 2011.
