A group of enthusiastic filmmakers has managed to create a short Dutch thriller with a Hollywood stamp using the symbolically low budget of 1,000 euros.

'Iemand Aan De Deur' tells the story of a boy who is home alone in the evening when an emergency occurs and everyone has to stay inside. Then a mother rings the doorbell with her daughter, who is looking for shelter for the moment.

The production was limited to 1,000 euros, with the result that all crew members and a large portion of the actors worked on the film for free.

'Iemand Aan De Deur' has screened at various Dutch film festivals and hopefully finds its way to international film festivals as well. On September 28, it will be screened at Kriterion.
