CinemAsia, the Asian film festival in Amsterdam that will take place for the 5th time next year from 4 to 8 April, is once again looking for young film talent. In collaboration with Binger Film Lab and the Netherlands Film Academy, CinemAsia organizes FILMLAB: GENERASIAN. In the run-up to the festival, three filmmakers make a short film in a very intensive production process. The films will have their world premiere during the festival in Amsterdam.

CinemAsia is calling on young filmmakers to submit a proposal for a short film based on the theme 'GenerAsian' - how following family structures, upbringing and relationships with the older generation can provide an interesting perspective in the traditionally large Asian families and diaspora. Of all proposals, three will be selected and developed under the supervision of experienced filmmakers.

Participants do not need to have experience in film making and do not necessarily need to be of Asian descent. It is important that the subject is about the Dutch-Asian identity with the theme 'GenerAsian'. In addition to professional guidance, technical facilities are made available from Binger and there is a budget of 500 euros.
