Duistere Revelations is a film festival where boundaries may be explored. Not only moral ones, but also creative ones. There is room for entertainment, but also for confrontation. Both filmmaker and audience are allowed to expose the dark side of their psyche. In fact, we encourage it. We also believe that experimentation with the narrative structure of the feature film is permitted. We define genres, but do not wish to restrict ourselves within them. There is room for borderline cases and extremes.

There is a short feature film competition for Dutch and Flemish productions in the genres of horror, thriller, crime, mystery, and drama. A jury selects a winner in the categories 'amateur', 'semi-professional', and 'professional'.

The festival will once again take place at Filmhuis Helmond this year on Saturday, November 29 and Sunday, November 30. Films can be submitted until Wednesday, October 1.
