Documentary EEUWIGE MOES in special program of MoMA, New York The documentary EEUWIGE MOES by Catherine van Campen has been selected for the 'Documentary Fortnight 2009' festival of the Museum of Modern Art (MoMA) in New York. MoMA's annual 'Documentary Fortnight' is a festival for art documentaries and is being held this year from February 11 to 25, 2009. The screening of EEUWIGE MOES will take place on Friday, February 20. Catherine van Campen will be present at the screening. In EEUWIGE MOES, various people speak who have become captivated by vegetable grower Ruud Walrecht and his mission to save many rare vegetable varieties and historical crops from extinction. Catherine van Campen developed the screenplay for her debut film during the workshop of the International Documentary Film Festival Amsterdam (IDFA) 2006 and won the Stimuleringsfonds Prize for Documentary worth 125,000 euros for it. Following the premiere of EEUWIGE MOES at IDFA in 2007, the film was screened by various international film festivals such as the International Thessaloniki Film Festival, the Seoul Green Film Festival, the Reel Earth Environmental Film Festival in New Zealand, the International Festival of Environmental Film and Video (FICA) in Brazil, and the Festival International du Film d'Environnement in Paris. The film won several awards, including the Best International Long Film award at the Planet In Focus International Environmental Film and Video Festival in Toronto. During the last edition of the Netherlands Film Festival in Utrecht, EEUWIGE MOES also received a nomination for Best Debut Film. The production of EEUWIGE MOES was made possible with support from the Stimuleringsfonds Nederlandse Culturele Omroepproducties, the VSBfonds, the SNS REAAL Fonds, and the Triodos Foundation.
