Behind the Green Door is a ground-breaking film, it was the first adult film that was widely released in the United States, not only in adult theaters, but also in respectable mainstream film houses. With Behind the Green By the Mitchell Brothers changed the face of the adult film industry back in the early 70s.

The film begins in a truck-stop diner, as two drivers come in and are pressed by the chef to tell him the story of \"the green door.\" The men are a little coy to talk about these rumors at first, but free coffee loosens their tongues. One of them begins to tell the story in which we see... a woman who is kidnapped from her hotel one night and taken to a secret location where she becomes the centerpiece of a bizarre sex show. I wont say anything more (is it necessary?) but I must note that compared to pornography these days this film is a breath of fresh air in that it is both mysterious and surreal.

The film stunned audiences across America because it starred MARYLIN CHAMBERS, a girl who up until then was only known as being the lovely face on IVORY SNOW soap advertisements (see the image at the bottom of this email). Of course the corporation tried to sue her and have the film banned, to no avail. Since then it remains one of the most notorious cult films from the 70s.

Behind the Green Door is truly a masterpiece in its genre, and remains one of the most important films in the history of alternative American cinema.

The title of the film refers to an old american song that was recorded in the 50's called THE GREEN DOOR.

Another classic with Marylin Chambers. After BEHIND THE GREEN DOOR Chambers went off and \"legitimately\" acted in David Cronenberg\'s film RABID. So INSATIABLE was, after a six year break, her return to hardcore pornography. And hey, there is absolutely nothing dark in this film! Its one of the biggest budget porn films made in the 70s (it was filmed in Technicolor!) and its a porno feel good film.

Its just sexy and wonderful...but one important thing to notice about this film: look at how much the actresses love to have sex! This is not something that is faked...its obvious. And it\'s what sets it miles apart from every porn film made in the last 20 years (where the actresses and actors obviously just clinically perform what they are told to do).

This film has an intense joie de vivre, and it also has a great kitschy soundtrack....and on top of it all it co-stars the legendary JOHN HOLMES! A timeless classic in the genre that has rarely ever been screened in Europe!
