In short: the competition is open to anyone between the ages of 18 and 28 living in one of the participating countries. Each participant must write a short film script of no more than 20,000 characters, with the 2009 theme: "Taboo". The scripts may be written in the participants' native language. How to participate?
Dutch participants must send their scripts to MeccaPANZA and will first enter the Dutch competition before competing for the European prize. Award ceremony
The winning Dutch script will be announced during the 2009 Netherlands Film Festival. Both the winner and the two runners-up will be presented with a jury prize and a comprehensive jury report with feedback.
The MeccaPANZA Award, in the form of a medal (see photo), which will be presented in Utrecht during the NFF, was designed by sculptor Lucie Nijland. The winning script is automatically the Dutch entry for the NISI MASA European Short Script Contest.
The winner of the competition will have the opportunity to realize his/her film with the help of NISI MASA. All national winners participating in the European Short Script Contest may also participate in the Script & Pitch Workshop during the Clermont Ferrand Film Festival 2009, where they will have the opportunity to further develop their scripts under the guidance of professionals.
