Gang formation. Where does the growing attention to this phenomenon come from?

The guests are:
Joost van der Valk, 2009 Emmy Award winner, director of CRIPS Strapped
'n Strong, Robby Roks, cultural criminologist, specialized in
gang life and
hip hop. He did the research for this film and his thesis
written about the CRIPS in The Hague.
Frank van Gemert, cultural anthropologist. He conducted ethnographic research.
research into Moroccan street gangs in the Netherlands.
