MPs at film debate in Het Ketelhuis

On Wednesday, December 9, from 8:30 PM, Cinema Het Ketelhuis will once again be the setting for the semi-annual debate on current issues in Dutch film politics, this time under the title 'The Winter Consultation'.

The agenda includes, among other things:

- The Oscar soap opera: a reconstruction of a farce. Could it be done differently?
With San Fu Maltha (producer of Oscar entry Winter War) and René Mioch (experienced Oscar reporter).

- Will the cinema and film theater industry soon go completely digital? Surprising insights into the current state of affairs. With Han ten Broeke (VVD Member of Parliament), John Leerdam (PvdA Member of Parliament), Ron Sterk (Dutch Association of Cinema Operators), and Hans van Brussel (Dutch Association of Feature Film Producers).

- Ten years of De Oversteek. The collaborative project between the Film Fund and VPRO has produced feature films such as De Poolse bruid, Met grote blijdschap, Îles flottantes, Guernsey, Diep, Langer licht, and Nothing Personal. Should the Film Fund limit itself to such low-budget films? A plea by Wilant Boekelman (producer of the Oversteek film Het Zwijgen).

- The Theu Boermans Effect. What are the consequences for the film industry of the court ruling regarding the appearance of bias by the advisory committee of the Performing Arts Fund? With a column by Dana Linssen (editor-in-chief of De Filmkrant).

The Winter Consultation is organized by Het Ketelhuis, in collaboration with De Filmkrant. As always, the presentation is in the hands of Karin Wolfs (freelance film journalist) and Alex de Ronde (director of Het Ketelhuis).
