Bride Flight wins the Award for Best International Co-production in Luxembourg.

During the presentation of the biennial Luxembourg Film Awards on Friday evening, December 4, Jani Thiltges, producer and managing director of Samsa Film, accepted the Award for Best International Co-production for the film Bride Flight by Ben Sombogaart. In 2007, this Award was presented to the film Irina Palm, and in 2005 to The Girl with the Pearl Earring.

The jury: For a fluently made and always involving classical melodrama with international appeal that integrates work on several locations including Luxembourg, and for a long-standing co-production relationship that has made the production of this international success possible.

After Bride Flight and the Oscar-nominated The Twins, Hanneke Niens (KeyFilm) and Jani Thiltges are currently collaborating for the third time on the production of Threes Anna's film Silent City (screenplay and direction). She previously made The Bird Can't Fly.
Filming for this co-production between the Netherlands, Ireland, and Luxembourg is scheduled for May 2010.
The film is a psychological portrait of a young European woman who travels to Tokyo to uncover the secrets of the unique way fish is filleted and prepared in Japan. Loneliness soon sets in.
The film is being made with the support of the Netherlands Film Fund and AVRO. Expected release: February 2011. Distribution: A-Film.

KeyFilm was founded in 2008 by Hanneke Niens and Hans de Wolf.
Hanneke Niens worked as a producer and managing director at IDTV Film from 1999 to 2008, which she founded together with Anton Smit.
Producer Hans de Wolf was one of the founders of Egmond Film en Televisie, formerly Bergen, from 1990 to 2007. More than 25 years of experience in producing (international) films resulted in more than 25 feature films (including the Oscar-winner Antonia and the Oscar-nominated film The Twins), 20 television films, and dozens of TV drama productions, documentaries, dance films, and short films.
