Fifty years of Cinestud

In the first week of April 2010, the eleventh edition of the international student film festival Cinestud will take place at the Kriterion film theater in Amsterdam.

The international student film festival Cinestud holds a special reputation in the Netherlands. Since the first edition in 1960, filmmakers who were unknown at the time, such as Roman Polanski, Martin Scorsese, Paul Verhoeven, and Jane Campion, have participated in the festival's competition.

Over the last fifty years, Cinestud has grown into a festival where original and progressive films by new filmmakers are screened. Cinestud's primary objective remains to present the work of the new generation of filmmakers who will develop into professionals in the future.

Student filmmakers

We would like to invite young filmmakers to submit their film to the Cinestud competition. Participation will not only offer filmmakers the opportunity to show their film to a wide audience, but will also facilitate the exchange of experiences with other filmmakers from around the world. Films can be submitted at www.cinestud.nl until January 15, 2010.
