The book 'Voor een beter filmklimaat. Filmhuis Delft en filmscontrole in Nederland 1974-2009', written by Winnie de Keizer, was recently published by Eburon Publishers. It covers the history of the Filmhuis within the context of developments in society and the film world. The book comprises 136 beautifully designed pages filled with historical photos and illustrations.
The book is based on the Master's thesis in Cultural Studies with which Winnie de Keizer graduated from the Open University. Dr. F. Inklaar, her examiner, wrote about this thesis: 'The researcher presents a clear, fluently written, detailed, and tightly composed micro-historiography. Thanks to the consistent relating to general societal developments, it is easy to follow even for non-experts. Certainly for the local situation, this is pioneering work that undoubtedly fills a gap in urban historiography. This statement also applies to the historical research into art house cinemas in the Netherlands.'
