The short fiction film Jacco's Film by Daan Bakker has been selected for the 60th edition of the Berlinale, the international film festival in Berlin. Bakker graduated from the Netherlands Film and Television Academy this year with Jacco's Film. It is the first time in seventeen years that a Dutch graduation film has been included in the Berlinale program.

Jacco's Film is a portrait of a ten-year-old boy who risks being crushed between his constantly quarreling parents. However, his vivid imagination keeps Jacco going: full of enthusiasm, he takes the viewer into his colorful world.

Daan Bakker's graduation film has already won five awards in the Netherlands, including the Nassenstein Start Prize for the best graduation project. In Berlin, Jacco's Film is in the running for a Crystal Bear.

The Berlinale takes place from 11 to 21 February 2010.
