Sjef Scholte, former director/owner of the Bridge Entertainment Group, will further expand his activities as a film producer in the Netherlands and Belgium through his new company, The Gamboni Company.

Film and TV productions in which The Gamboni Company is involved include the second successful series of Snuf de Hond together with Steven de Jong, which will be broadcast by the EO in November 2010; De Ontsnapping, based on the bestseller by Heleen van Royen; Penny, the new film by Steven de Jong in collaboration with the wildly popular horse magazine of the same name; Sterven zonder Naam, the film about the Singer Without a Name starring Willeke van Ammelrooy; Beekman en Beekman, based on the bestseller by Toon Kortooms; a new film and TV series “Dat heb ik weer” based on the books by Carry Slee; and a new Q&Q film in collaboration with Kemna & Zonen.

In Belgium, The Gamboni Company is active together with Caviar Film as co-producer of Oh No Its a Woman by Hilde van Mieghem, Altijd Tevreden, a film starring Urbanus, and Het Varken van Madonna by Frank van Passel. They are also working with Fobic Film on the film Hasta la Vista by Geoffrey van Enthoven and with Skyline on the new major animated film Magic Cristal.

For the past 16 years, Sjef Scholte was associated with Bridge Entertainment Group, part of Foreign Media Group, first as owner and later as managing director. In that position, together with Bridge, he was instrumental in the creation of successful Steven de Jong productions such as De Schippers van de Kameleon, De Scheepsjongens van Bontekoe, the Snuf de Hond series, and De Hel van '63, and served as a producer on various Carry Slee adaptations such as Afblijven, Timboektoe, Radeloos, and Lover of Loser.

In Belgium, he contributed to the success of films such as De Zaak Alzheimer, the Suske en Wiske film, and the highly successful Fait Divers series including Aanrijding in Moscou, Hel van Tanger, and SM rechter. Furthermore, the films Dossier K, Bo, and Zot van A (the remake of Alles is Liefde), which were released in cinemas by Bridge in 2010/2011.

In addition to production activities, The Gamboni Company will sell Dutch and Belgian productions abroad as a sales agent.
