CALL FOR PARTICIPATION SHORT FILM COMPETITION

The website for film professionals Filmstart.nl is organizing a new European film competition together with Sony Professional: the Sony PROduction Awards.

The competition was created to offer new film talent a chance to draw attention to themselves. A professional audience is reached for these new makers via the internet: professionals from the film world.

Unique to the competition is its completely online nature; both participants and jury members work via the internet. The professional jury is composed of people registered as professionals with Filmstart.

The preliminary rounds are held simultaneously in various European countries. In addition to the professional jury, there is a public jury consisting of visitors to the site (where anyone can vote for the videos). Filmmakers are challenged to upload their videos to the site and have them judged. The theme of the competition is “INFINITE MEMORY”. The films may be a maximum of 3 minutes long. The European setup of the competition gives Dutch short film makers a chance for international recognition.

In addition to the national prizes, after the first round the winner receives guidance and support from the Sony Professional team to further develop their talent, use equipment, and compete for the European award.
