The monthly Rialto Podium is dedicated to special screenings. Special because a distinguished guest always takes the stage: the film's director, a film expert, or someone from the world of art or politics. On Saturday, April 3, it is actor Huub Stapel's turn. At Rialto, he shares one of his favorite films with the audience: Witness by Peter Weir.

Actor Huub Stapel (Tegelen, 1954) rose to prominence in 1983 with his role as an elevator mechanic in Dick Maas's *De lift*. He had leading roles in other Dick Maas films such as *Flodder* and *Amsterdamned*, and also appeared in many other Dutch films such as *Van de koele meren des doods*, *Het meisje met het rode haar*, and *Van God los*.
Furthermore, he not only appeared in countless domestic and foreign TV series, but also regularly made appearances on stage. For instance, he played Willy Brandt in the theatrical production *Democraten* and is currently causing a stir with his solo show *Mannen komen van Mars, vrouwen van Venus*. For a time, he indulged his passion for cars as the presenter of the television program *Stapel op auto's*.
Rialto asked Stapel to choose one of his favorite films. It turned out to be Witness by Peter Weir. Prior to the screening, Stapel explains his choice.
