Imagine, the 26th Amsterdam Fantastic Film Festival, has announced its prize winners.

Since 1990, the public has determined the winner of the Silver Scream Award, and since 2001, a professional jury has selected from the nominations for the Silver Méliès, the award of the European Fantastic Film Festivals Federation (EFFFF) for the best European fantastic film at Imagine (formerly AFFF). In 2006, the Black Tulip was added, the festival's own jury prize.

Black Tulip Awards
The winner of the Black Tulip Award is THE SEVENTH CIRCLE by Hungarian filmmaker Arpad Sopsits. From the jury report: “The fantastic elements are cleverly integrated into an otherwise very realistic story about life, death, friendship, and loneliness.”
Jury members Koen van Otterdijk (picture editor De Wereld Draait Door), Oene Kummer (film critic TV-Gids) and Hanro Smitsman (filmmaker).

Méliès Awards
The Méliès jury awarded the 2010 Silver Méliès for Best European Fantastic Film from Imagine to TRANSMISSION by Hungarian filmmaker Roland Vranik. From the jury report: “A visually powerful and relevant film that, without becoming forceful, raises questions about our current society.” The jury members were: Victor Ponten (Habbekrats), Marieke Kremer (Sp!ts reviewer), and Jos Stelling (filmmaker).

Sp!ts Silver Scream Award
The audience award of the IMAGINE: 26th Amsterdam Fantastic Film Festival, the Sp!ts Silver Scream Award, was won by the film MARY AND MAX, a moving claymation for adults by Adam Elliot.

TRANSMISSION by Hungarian filmmaker Roland Vranik was nominated for the Silver Méliès (Best European Fantastic Film).
