The Franco-Belgian film "Amer" has won the Grand Prize at the Copenhagen International Film Festival. The New Talent CPH PIX award, which recognizes new talent in the seventh art, comes with 50,000 euros. The debut film by Belgian directors Hélène Cattet and Bruno Forziano had already garnered four awards last year, including the Public's Choice Award in Montreal.

"Amer" (Bitter) is situated between auteur cinema and experimental cinema. Central to the film is Ana, whose three "key moments" from her life, all related to sensuality and desire, are shown. "Amer" follows in the footsteps of the British-Hungarian-Romanian film "Katalin Varga" by Peter Strickland, which won the first edition of CPH PIX last year.
