Sylvia Hoeks (Vuurzee, De Storm), Martijn Lakemeier (Oorlogswinter, Lover of Loser), and Sallie Harmsen (Het Echte Leven) are on the jury of the National Film Festival for School Students (NFFS) this year. The NFFS will hold its sixth edition in Lelystad on September 20, 2010. During the festival, students aged 12 to 18 will present their self-made films of a maximum of fifteen minutes. Submissions can be made until July 1.

In addition to the three young actors, the permanent jury members actress Johanna ter Steege (Last Conversation, Guernsey), director Eddy Terstall (Vox Populi, Simon), and director and screenwriter Maria Peters (Afblijven, Kruimeltje) will also judge the entries. The winners will represent the Netherlands at the International Youth Film Festival 'Camera Zizanio' in Greece in December. Schools can still register until July 1 via www.nffs.nl.

Online festival
For the first time this year, the NFFS is also organizing an online festival, the NOFFS (National Online Film Festival for School Students). Individual young people aged 12 to 18 who have made a film themselves can upload their film to www.hetnoffs.nl. By doing so, they compete for the online award presented at the NFFS.

The NFFS
During the festival day, all participating films are presented at the Agora Theatre in Lelystad, and more than 40 workshops are held led by jury members and other professionals from the film and television world. In the evening, the festival concludes festively with the announcement of the winners at the closing gala. In 2009, 152 short films were submitted by over 500 secondary school students aged 12 to 18. They came from 47 schools.
