Roaring with laughter! Nothing beats collapsing on the couch after a long day and doubled over with laughter watching shows like Draadstaal, Toren C, or Sluipschutters.
But that is precisely why it is such a letdown when a program just misses the mark. Humor is one of the trickiest genres in film and television. Yet a number of Dutch creators take on the challenge time and again, and with success! During our VERS Event on November 8, we will be grilling creators who develop humorous programs for Dutch television.

Moderator, program maker, and comedian Marcel Bamberg guides us throughout the evening, using an interview with the creators and video clips, through all the aspects involved in producing, writing, and performing shows where everything revolves around laughter.

Ronald Snijders is a theatre maker, TV presenter, writer, and comedian who creates absurdist humor. You may know him from the One Man Show and the programs Rambam and De staat van verward, among others. In 2021, he received the Lifetime Achievement Award for Cabaret and Small-Scale Arts.
Albert Jan van Rees is an actor and director. By his own account, he creates humor that always has a glimmer of hope underneath. In his work, he seeks out pain and discomfort in relatable moments to let the inevitable shortcomings of people shine through. Albert Jan directs, among others, Sluipschutters and Toren C, and is best known on camera for Foute vrienden.
