Kate Broug

I am Kate Broug, documentary filmmaker, journalist, presenter, and pilot, with a fascination for aviation, history, and exploration. My work revolves around discovering and telling extraordinary, often forgotten stories, and the people behind them.
I am the founder and presenter of First Flights, a documentary series in which I explore the world of aviation and its history. My projects take me to extraordinary locations all over the world. For example, I flew my own 1943 Boeing Stearman over 6,000 kilometers across the United States, following in the footsteps of the female military pilots of World War II.
I am a Fellow of the Royal Geographical Society and a member of The Explorers Club in New York. My work and stories have appeared in Variety, ELLE, Marie Claire, and The Village Voice, among others. Additionally, I have collaborated with organizations such as the Intrepid Museum in New York and the National WASP WWII Museum.
Through my documentaries and social channels, I reach an international audience of over 180,000 followers, with videos that regularly reach hundreds of thousands of people.
I am currently working on various documentary projects, including an expedition to Alaska to document a World War II aircraft wreck. My work is often situated at the intersection of history, adventure, and human stories.
I am always looking for interesting creative collaborations, particularly with cinematographers who have a strong visual sense, are curious, and enjoy working outside the box. From a shooting day in a museum to shooting from a historic aircraft or at a remote location: no project is exactly the same.
