Sam Broekman | Director of Photography | Gaffer
I'm Sam Broekman, an experienced cameraman from Amsterdam with a passion for documentaries, short fiction projects, and commercials. Since 2018, I've been working in the film industry, both as a Director of Photography (DP) and Gaffer.
With my own camera and lighting setup, I'm equipped for a variety of productions, from small-scale to large-scale. I'm particularly interested in analog film; I enjoy working with 16mm and 35mm, appreciating the unique atmosphere of film.

The film Hotel Mokum was an important project. This was a documentary in which a fictional member of an Amsterdam collective reflects on the unexpectedly successful action to squat Hotel Mokum.
Luci has also been a wonderful fictional project in Suriname. This project explores the memory and legacy of GGT Rustwijk, a Surinamese artist and activist from the post-slavery era. Through site-specific performances, interviews, and reinterpretations of archives, his life and impact are rediscovered in contemporary Suriname.
