Matties I Amsterdam
I am fascinated by human psychology: what lies behind the behavior we humans exhibit? How do we deal with our desires: do we cling to reality or to our dreams? In my work, this fascination translates into characters who feel misunderstood by the outside world, and into a style in which I combine gravity with humor and playfulness. I like to let acting, camerawork, and sound interact with each other as much as possible. With my films, I want to show the viewer the inner workings of the characters. I am convinced that when people understand each other better, we can also appreciate one another more. I want to contribute to that. I am currently working on my graduation film at the Utrecht University of the Arts.
