About me
I am Frank Smits, film director, screenwriter and editor and I live in Utrecht.
I mainly make short documentaries for institutions in the fields of arts and culture and healthcare and welfare.
My films are informative, short, concise, varied, and light-hearted. The characters are respected and encouraged to make surprising statements.
I work with a cameraman on film shoots. I usually handle the sound myself. I often conduct the interviews myself, but sometimes an expert does them. I do the editing myself, and I also regularly use archive material in my films.
In recent years I have been making short films for museum exhibitions.
I also do a lot of photography, especially models for portfolios or LinkedIn accounts.
