I am a filmmaker, film editor, and educator based in Amsterdam, Netherlands. With more than a decade of experience in filmmaking and post-production, I specialize in documentary, narrative, and interview-driven storytelling. As an editor, I have experience shaping projects from raw footage into cohesive, emotionally engaging stories. My work includes editing multi-camera interviews, documentary footage, archival material, b-roll, and narrative scenes, with a particular strength in structuring interviews and finding the moments that reveal character, emotion, and story. I am comfortable working through small or large amounts of footage, building assemblies, refining story structure, tightening pacing, and creating polished picture cuts for final delivery. I have edited projects using Adobe Premiere Pro, DaVinci Resolve, Final Cut Pro, and CapCut, with additional experience in color correction, basic sound editing, graphics, titles, and post-production finishing. My production background as a filmmaker, and editor gives me a strong understanding of coverage, continuity, composition, and how footage can be shaped creatively in the edit. My documentary work includes projects exploring history, culture, social justice, and biographical topics. Dion also brings his professional experience into education as a Film faculty member at ArtCenter College of Design, where he teaches filmmaking and helps students develop their storytelling and post-production skills.
