Filmwerkwijs, a new independent sector service point, makes guidelines and agreements on fair pay digitally accessible to the Dutch film and audiovisual sector. The platform responds to a structural remuneration problem that, according to research by Kunsten '92, requires an average of 23% of total production costs to reach an acceptable level. Directing, executive production, and the art department, in particular, lag behind, while women also structurally earn less than men. Filmwerkwijs offers advice and information to translate guidelines into practice and runs as a pilot until autumn 2026, after which the first findings will be presented during the Netherlands Film Festival.
