Nina Broers' short film Where Is My Sex Drive? has been selected as a finalist for the Student Academy Awards 2026, organized by the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences, in the Alternative/Experimental category. The film, Broers' graduation project at St. Joost School of Art & Design, follows a young woman who hires two actors to reenact scenes from her past, where she is confronted with conflicting opinions regarding her sexual health. The jury of Go Short 2025, where the film won the Best Dutch Short Film award, praised the hyperrealistic yet fictional making-of approach that exposes power dynamics surrounding consent. The awards ceremony will take place on September 14, 2026, during TIFF in Toronto.
