The Netherlands Film Festival 2026 kicks off on Friday, September 25, with the premiere of *Downtown*, directed by Michiel van Erp. Frank Houtappels wrote the script, and Kaap Holland Film and Het Familiedrama produced the film. Parallel to the Utrecht premiere, the film is screening in cinemas throughout the Netherlands. The Film Fund supported several projects that can be seen in Utrecht this festival week.
