Didn't get away this summer? Then come to Papadag. A special slide evening in which theatre maker and father Bert Hana recounts his summer holiday with his six-year-old daughter Sophie in a home setting. Amidst the tent pegs, Bert encounters single mothers, sugary sweet children's parties, and the always cheerful entertainment team.

At the crack of dawn, we stand by my parents' crammed borrowed car. Sophie with still sleepy eyes and her pillow under her arm, me buzzed with caffeine from the two strong cups of coffee the neighbor had. Even before we are properly on our way, the sweetie needs to pee. We stop at McDonald's where I devour a greasy McEgg and she a Happy Meal. Stuffed, we set off on our journey – final destination: a carefree holiday at the quintessentially Dutch family campsite Zandzicht.

In the summer of 2009, Bert Hana created a personal slide report of his vacation with his six-year-old daughter. At the suggestion of a neighbor, Bert entered the Amsterdam Fringe Festival and showed the slides to the public in his own living room. It was a success; the living room was packed every evening, and Papadag won the Dioraphte Amsterdam Fringe Award 2009. This summer, Papadag travels to Prague, New York, Ostend, and Amsterdam.
