The Golden Calf winner 'Bloody Mondays & Strawberry Pies', by Coco Schrijber, about boredom and the lost ability to do nothing, is now available on DVD.

The intriguing emotion of boredom, which can be both positive and negative, forces us to consider why we do what we do. The film argues not to dispel boredom with countless external stimuli, but to surrender to it in order to fathom yourself and your true desires.

The storylines of the main characters—a young man from Doetinchem, a 45-year-old woman who shot children at age 16 to 'liven things up a bit', a Wall Street trader, a desert nomad, a man who has been painting *De Tijd* for 42 years, and a 96-year-old former spy—are interwoven. Their unity is strengthened by the vision of the existence of the bored-to-the-bone human, narrated by John Malkovich.
