Two films & performance Hamlet - The Clown Prince
Special about the successful Indian theater-film actor and director Rajat Kapoor

Tropentheater Amsterdam puts Rajat Kapoor (1961), the successful Indian theater and film actor and director from Mumbai, in the spotlight for four days. As an actor, he has appeared in 32 films; he has directed, written, and produced 10 films. In 2009, he directed his first theatrical production: Hamlet - The Clown Prince.
From Tuesday, October 26 to 29, two of his films and the theater performance will be shown. His film Mythia is anything but a Bollywood film, but sinister, modern in style and design – and with humor. It is reminiscent of the work of Quentin Tarantino. The second film Fatso! is a comedy full of plot twists, 'A High Calorie Love Story'
In the theatre production Hamlet - The Clown Prince, his fascination with clowns and jesters returns. Hamlet through the eyes of a clown: a comedic version of a tragedy.

Rajet Kapoor will be present for a post-screening discussion on Wednesday, October 27 (after the film Fatso). He will also be at the meet & greet, together with The Company Theatre (Mumbai), following Hamlet - The Clown Prince.

Hamlet - The Clown Prince
Hamlet through the eyes of a clown: a comedic version of a tragedy. The Company Theatre (Mumbai) is a group of actors that presents a highly physical form of theater.

The program centered around director Rajat Kapoor was created in collaboration with Hivos/NCDO Cultuurfonds.
