Every year, Sydney Underground Film Festival hosts TAKE48, a 48-hour filmmaking competition where teams are challenged to write, shoot and edit a complete short film in just two days.

This year, the competition takes place 14–16 August, and for the first time Dolly Llama Productions will be competing from Europe.

The challenge is simple: create a 3-minute short film in 48 hours using a series of secret elements that will only be revealed on August 14.

We are Dolly Llama Productions, an independent production company that recently relocated to the Netherlands to develop and produce our next feature film, The Scoundrel, scheduled to shoot in Amsterdam in November 2027.

What we offer
We already have 10 crew members committed to the project and are excited to welcome actors who want to network, collaborate and create something memorable together.

Although this is a low-budget production, we aim to run a professional, organized and enjoyable set.

Because this is a 48-hour filmmaking competition, the screenplay cannot be written until the competition officially begins. This means we won't know the exact characters until a few hours before production.

Lead actors can expect significant screen time. Featured supporting performers will have meaningful on-screen roles, although dialogue cannot be guaranteed due to the nature of the competition.

We're looking for actors who are passionate about filmmaking, enjoy collaborating with new people, and are excited by the challenge of creating something special in just 48 hours.
