The Other Shore is a character-driven science fiction film set in the near future where the world has been taken over by intelligent, self-replicating robots.
Sixteen-year-old Isla and her half-brother Douwe leave their safe haven on a small island in Lake Tjeukemeer and set off in a small sailboat towards England, hoping that a human society has survived there.
The feature film is being shot largely in Friesland. Prior to the feature film, we are first making a short film set in the same world, also in Friesland.

What we offer
A role within an ambitious science fiction production that is being developed entirely from the Netherlands and largely filmed in Friesland.
You will work with an existing film crew and have the opportunity to become involved in both the short film and possibly the feature film later on.
The production is being developed within the low-budget range. Compensation is subject to negotiation and depends in part on the role, commitment, and the eventual financing of the production. We are applying for additional funds, allowing the final production scale to grow further.

Description
We want to expand our existing crew and are open to applications for virtually all crew positions.
Think of camera, lighting, sound, production, art department, costume, make-up, AD, set, continuity, data, BTS, photography, and post-production. Is your position not listed? Please apply anyway.
We take a broad view of who fits well with the project and the existing team. Living in Friesland or the Northern Netherlands is a plus, but not a requirement.

Period
The short film will be shot in Friesland first. The exact shooting dates are currently being planned.
After that, we continue working towards the production of the feature film. Availability may therefore vary by role and production phase.

Job requirements / profile
The duties vary by position.
Because a significant part of the film is being shot on and around the water, we are looking for people who enjoy working on an adventurous production and can be flexible about filming on location.
Experience is welcome, but not necessary for every position. When applying, be sure to mention what you do, what experience you have, and which position(s) you find interesting.
