What is KLIK!
The KLIK! Amsterdam Animation Festival is an accessible platform for animation in the broadest sense of the word. From September 12 to 14, 2008, we will organize a multimedia festival at Kriterion, the renowned cinema where students have called the shots for over sixty years, where you can enjoy short animated films from all corners of the world, interactive gaming entertainment, fascinating side entertainment, and wonderful festivities.
KLIK! bursts loose! Animation takes center stage on September 12, 13, and 14 at Filmtheater Kriterion.
This coming weekend, the time has finally come: the second edition of the KLIK! Amsterdam Animation Festival will be prominently featured at Filmtheater Kriterion for three days, with a packed, accessible program, exuberant festivities, and abundant side entertainment. On September 12, the festive opening takes place with a sneak preview of the crystal award-winning film Sita Sings The Blues, followed by a dazzling Bollywood-style party until the early hours.
On Saturday at twelve o'clock, all hell breaks loose for a day entirely dedicated to the most entertaining animation antics sent to KLIK! from all corners of the world. After a day packed with highlights from contemporary animation, Kriterion will proverbially blow the roof off with a thrilling party where VJs and DJs will once again hold the crowd hostage on the dance floor long after the children are in bed.
On Sunday, enjoy a relaxed lounging experience with a collection of the festival's best films, a renewed chance to showcase your creative aspirations to the world in our cotton candy sculpting competition or our flipbook animation contest, accompanied by the sweet sounds of DJ Pepmenneke.
Note for editors and press contacts: there are still a very limited number of places available for the opening film on September 12. Please contact Niko Bos as soon as possible if you are interested in attending the opening.
