Today, during the 28th Netherlands Film Festival, the Tuschinski Award and the Talent&Pro Award were presented to the best graduation films from the various Dutch audiovisual schools.
The Tuschinski Award for Best Film from the Netherlands Film and Television Academy in Amsterdam has been awarded to GAANDEWEG by Margot Schaap. In this short film, a girl packs her bags to move into her own room. Meanwhile, she looks around the house at her younger brothers and sisters. Through observation, Sophie bids farewell to her familiar life.
The Talent&Pro Award for the best film from the other audiovisual programs in the Netherlands was presented to ŠKODA by Rob Lücker, made for the Utrecht University of the Arts. In this short film, two neighbors who are polar opposites nevertheless lead the same life full of monotony. When one tries to help the other, the latter responds with a punch. Ultimately, they prove to be able to move forward together.
The jury of the Talent&Pro Award, consisting of Jef Nassenstein, Piet-Harm Sterk, and Maarten Timmerman, on this short film: 'In this film, every shot was like a painting. Every scene was perfect, in timing, image, and action.'
The Tuschinski Award consists of a prize of 2,500 euros from Pathé Cinemas BV. The winner is chosen by the members of the Circle of Dutch Film Journalists.
The Talent&Pro Award consists of a sum of 2,500 euros, offered by sponsor Talent&Pro. The Talent&Pro Award is being presented for the sixth time to encourage emerging talent in their further careers in the film industry. Talent&Pro does this for talents in the banking and insurance sector and facility services.
