On the same day, amateur films by and for everyone who walks in are shown worldwide in Canada, Argentina, Germany, Italy, Japan, and the US, among others.
We would also like to cordially invite you to attend this day.
The Home Movie Day is a place to share an interest in amateur films with others.
From 12:00 PM onwards, you can visit the Film Museum with (old) family films shot on 8mm, Super8, 9.5mm, and 16mm film formats. The films will be inspected by SuperSens specialists and Film Museum curators. Where necessary, they will be cleaned and repaired, and then screened on the big screen in the Film Museum's beautiful Parisien Hall. As a visitor, you will also receive advice on the best storage conditions for your films, and a live demonstration will be given on how the material can be transferred to digital media.
The Home Movie Day concludes with a presentation of amateur films restored by the Film Museum. The most popular amateur film of the day will be screened again in the evening program.
Film experts and representatives from film archives are present during the Home Movie Day.
Lamps, spools, adhesive tape, and the like are also sold.
In addition, there is a repairer for (minor) free repairs to defective cameras.
and projectors; so bring those old things along.
