The assignment was to make a one-minute film about the food industry as an employer. During the Food Valley Conference at CineMec in Ede, three nominated short films were shown before CineMec Director Gerben Kuipers proceeded to make the announcement.
Stichting Benchmark Producties won first prize because the film 'Vers is topsport' (Fresh is Top Sport) showcased various facets of the food industry, such as hygiene, logistics, and production, in just one minute. Moreover, the jury was completely captivated by the humor in the clip. The central theme was an egg that was served as quickly as possible to hotel guests for breakfast, fresh from the hen. The winner went home with a check for 2,500 euros and a very big smile, especially since the conference participants also clearly appreciated the makers' sense of humor, which is evident in the film. 'Vers is topsport' contributes positively to the image of the food industry.
In addition to Gerben Kuipers, the jury consisted of Marc Dik, television pundit and director of independent production company Sky High TV, responsible for the format and production of successful and innovative programs such as 'Jong', 'Over Mijn Lijk', and 'Het Familiediner'; Regina Dijkstra, a teacher at Het Pallas Athene College in Ede; and Linze van Rijswijk, Food Valley ambassador and a true film enthusiast.
The second prize was awarded to the film 'Your future in Food Design' by Matrix Productions and the third prize to 'Shooting Food' by Rosa Sophia Producties.
