An extensive article by the Dutch director and documentary maker Willem Alkema will appear in the New York Post (http://www.nypost.com/) on Sunday 25 September. Alkema was asked by America's oldest newspaper to write an article about his experiences while making the documentary: Dance To The Music. The film is a search for the disappeared pop star Sly Stone. Prince, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Black Eyed Peas praise the legendary frontman of Sly and the Family Stone for his pioneering work in pop music. After several attempts, Alkema manages to find the hermit. Alkema and Stone have maintained a close relationship ever since. Alkema recently accompanied Sly during the shoot of the popular music program Unsung (TVOne USA), which also portrayed artists such as Stevie Wonder.
Alkema is currently working on two international documentaries, and he also regularly works for public broadcasting.
