REYKJAVIK-ROTTERDAM is a co-production between Rotterdam Films, owned by Dick Rijneke and Mildred van Leeuwaarden, and the Icelandic production company Blueeyes Productions, owned by Baltasar Kormákur and Agnes Johansen. In addition to Blueeyes and Rotterdam Films, Bavaria Film International is involved in this film.
The festive premiere was attended by the Rotterdam production delegation together with Dutch actor Victor Löw, who plays the role of Hoogland, a dealer in suspicious goods. The lead role is played by Baltasar Kormákur (1966), who is also a producer. He is also known as an actor and director and directed, among others, the Icelandic Oscar submission JAR CITY, which opens in Dutch cinemas on November 13.
The screenplay for REYKJAVIK-ROTTERDAM was written by the well-known Icelandic thriller writer Arnaldur Indridason.
The film is currently playing in Icelandic cinemas with great success and received very positive reviews in the press. The film will be released in Dutch cinemas in the spring of 2009.
