From April 18 to 22, 2012, FILMFESTIVAL JONG will take place at Corrosia! in Almere, the film festival for and by young people. From January to April 2012, over 50 secondary school students from Almere prepared this festival themselves through a social internship.

Filmfestival Jong is a film festival for and by young people. For young people because the festival aims to introduce them to various types of films they would not normally see, as they do not screen in major cinemas. By young people because the festival's premise is that young people actively participate in its creation.
Since the 2011-2012 school year, the social internship has been compulsory for secondary school students: pupils learn to contribute to society selflessly. Over the past few months, more than 50 secondary school students have prepared the festival through a social internship.

From April 18 to 22, 2012, Filmfestival Jong presents film screenings, workshops, and post-screening discussions with filmmakers, among other things. On April 18, 19, and 20, film screenings will be shown during school hours that students can attend with their class. On the weekend, there are public film screenings and activities open to everyone.

On Wednesday, April 18 at 7:30 PM, the festival will be opened by Almere-based actor and comedian Johan Fretz. The opening film of the festival is Simple Simon by Swedish director Andreas Öhman.
