After sixteen years, the popular film program FILMSPOT, presented by Jac. Goderie and broadcast weekly on, is coming to an end.
RTV Noord Holland, TV West, TV Oost, L1 Limburg, Omroep Maximaal, Zienopsis Doetinchem, TV Utrecht.
For Shooting Star Filmcompany, it is no longer feasible to continue producing the longest-running film program on Dutch television.
In the week of April 2, Goderie will shine his light on that week's premieres for the last time.
A week later, there is a special farewell episode in which he presents his favorite films from sixteen years of FILMSPOT.
An estimated 700 episodes have been made.
FILMSPOT was first broadcast in the summer of 1993 on the local Amsterdam channel AT-5. After one season, the program was taken over by the AVRO. Later, the weekly magazine centered around presenter and film expert Jac. Goderie was broadcast on a variety of local and regional channels. However, in the final seasons, the program was no longer profitable due to the rapidly changing media landscape.
The program distinguished itself by a broad interest in film. Alongside major Hollywood productions, there was always room for smaller-scale works. With his positive-critical approach, Goderie exposed the essence of the films discussed. For many viewers, he regularly provided a reliable answer to the question: 'Which film are we going to see tonight?'
