A group of young people aged 8 to 19 will participate and appear as extras in a spectacular new Dutch-language action film: THE BOOK OF TRUTH.

Producer Mark Horton (UK) and director Tony Wittebol (NL), through their companies FILMFIGHT and GWAILO FILMS Inc., have worked on various international action productions (including in Bollywood, India) and wanted to pass on their experiences to young people by starting a youth project.

In 2006, the idea was born for a Dutch-language film full of action, fantasy, and mystery, played entirely by children! Now, three years later, the script is finished, the lead roles have been cast, and production is already well underway.
The film will be set in Leiden and will depict a beautiful old Dutch city, but in a very modern time.....

The lead roles are reserved for 10 special children who, in addition to their great acting talent, are also very advanced in Chinese Kung Fu. Consequently, they will all perform their own actions and stunts in front of the camera! The children are part of two groups in the story – the Roofers are a criminal gang involved in unpleasant business, while the Knights are our heroes, who are given the daunting task of protecting the Book of Truth and saving the world (and the Netherlands)!
In addition, +/- 50 children are invited to play extras in a film world populated 100% by children.... no adults appear in the film!

Mark Horton has been working as an Action Director/Choreographer on major international productions for years, and will also rehearse "high-level choreography" with the children for THE BOOK OF THE TRUTH.
Director Wittebol: "We have been doing action drills and rehearsals every week for more than 6 months, and the children are really starting to look like little Jet Li's now!"

Now, in the pre-production phase of the film, actual filming begins this spring, and in the meantime, the children are being taught about the various aspects of film production. Currently, they are working on a trailer that will be released before the summer.

Intensive work is currently being done behind the scenes to seek additional funding, with the aim of making the quality of film effects and action scenes as high as possible.
