Amsterdam, May 14, 2009,
During the Federation Council on May 12, 2009, the member associations unanimously agreed to a new structure for the Federation of Film Interests. This structure was developed in collaboration with the consultancy firm 'Andersson Elffers Felix' from Utrecht.
Within the new structure, the board will be given a more autonomous role in developing strategic policy, prioritizing the common objectives of the member associations. Furthermore, based on the rules of engagement and the new structure, the members of the Federation expect to achieve improved external and internal communication. This should have a positive effect on the professionalization of the entire sector. Further growth and professionalization of the sector can only be effectively shaped jointly.
The coming months will be used to form the new board, organize a symposium on a future vision for Dutch film, and determine the associated priorities for the years 2010 and 2011.
The nine affiliated member associations represent virtually all organized filmmakers in the Netherlands. These are ACT (Guild of Film and Television Actors), ADC (Assistant Directors Club), DDG (Dutch Directors Guild), NBF (Dutch Professional Association of Film and Television Makers), Network of Screenwriters, NIAF (Netherlands Institute for Animation Film), NSC (Netherlands Society of Cinematographers), NVS (Dutch Association of Feature Film Producers), and the VNAP (Association of Dutch Animation Producers).
The interim board consists of:
Jules van den Steenhoven, NSC (interim chairman)
Wim Blaauboer, Network of Screenwriters
Mardou Jacobs, NBF
Michiel de Rooij, NVS
Sieger Sloot, ACT
