On Sunday, September 13, American cult director John Waters pays a special visit to Melkweg Cinema. He will introduce his insane comedy 'Polyester' at 7:00 PM, and his legendary 'Pink Flamingos' will be screened at 9:30 PM.

John Waters (USA), better known as the 'King of Trash', is known for his use of camp and shocking scenes. He began directing low-budget productions in the 1970s, in which the transsexual Divine played a prominent leading role.
To this day, Waters still makes films, including with big stars like Johnny Depp and John Travolta. These films seem to border on so-called mainstream Hollywood productions, but appearances are deceiving. They are miles away from them.
Waters became known for, among others, his classics Pink Flamingos (1972), Polyester (1981), and Hairspray (1988).
