Dear filmmaker,

ShortsTV, the premier TV channel for short films, offers you the chance to pitch your new short film project during The Pitch competition at the 35th Netherlands Film Festival. The winner will receive a €5,000 production budget plus professional guidance from ShortsTV. Additionally, the winning pitch will be promoted on Cinecrowd.nl to secure an additional €5,000 in crowdfunding for the project.

What is The Pitch?
After previous editions, we have decided to make The Pitch a bit more exciting and implement some changes – including a live final opposite a jury panel of experts.

You get 30 seconds to present your idea – The Pitch – for a future short film project live at the NFF. The pitches are then presented to the audience via Facebook, supplemented by a 15-second reel of previous work. For example, a short film or a showreel (which may be screened with permission). The four pitches with the most votes automatically advance to the final, while the fifth finalist is selected by the NFF.

If your application is accepted, you will be invited to the Netherlands Film Festival on Thursday, September 24, to deliver your pitch directly in front of the camera, in one take.

The final takes place on Monday, September 28, with a live audience and in the presence of a jury panel of experts. For the final, each participant receives 2 minutes, plus an additional demoral of 45 seconds. The winner will be announced that same evening.
