On September 26, the "Day of the Amateur Film" will be organized once again during the Netherlands Film Festival in Utrecht. This is an annual event organized by the Amateur Film Foundation, of which the undersigned are board members.
On this day, there are lectures on amateur film, a forum discussion, and of course, many 8mm and 16mm amateur films from bygone days will be shown.
Create a compelling trailer on 8mm film:
SuperSens is organizing a competition to produce a trailer that will be used at the Day of the Amateur Film. SuperSens has been a sponsor of this one-day event for many years.
The trailer will need to be shot on Super 8mm film. A great opportunity to experiment with 8mm again. The material will eventually be handed over to the participant in digital form. The editing can begin!
The rules of the game:
- One cassette of 8mm film (over 3 minutes of film) is supplied per participant.
- Your application must be received no later than Friday, August 8.
- You will create 2 trailers from the footage, one version of approximately 15 seconds.
and one of approx. 5 seconds.
- The exposed material must be submitted no later than Thursday, August 28.
Your digitized film can be picked up on Monday, September 8.
We burn QuickTime and AVI files to DVD.
- Your submission (to be submitted on DVD) must be received by SuperSens no later than Thursday, September 18.
- Participation costs amount to €45.00 including VAT
What do you get for this?
- The Super8 film (your choice of Ektachrome 64T or Wittnerchrome 100D) will be sent to you.
as soon as your payment is received.
- Your 8mm film is developed and scanned by us (your choice of QT DV or QT 8-bit) and the
data burned onto a DVD.
- The DVD will be sent to you by post.
Is there anything left to win?
Absolutely! Your trailer will of course be on display all day at Amateur Film Day.
And as if that weren't enough, we have come up with even more prizes.
The Prices:
The first prize consists of a small 8mm production. You get a Super8 camera on loan for a week, along with 5 sheets of Super8 color or black and white film. Developing and scanning are all included.
So, a fantastic prize with a value of around 350 euros.
The 2nd and 3rd prizes consist of 2 sheets of Super8 color film, including developing and scanning.
We hope you join in!
