Devise and make a short film about why voting is important on March 3, 2010, and win €500.
Why should you actually vote? What do you and your friends think is important for the city you live in? And how can things be improved? Speak up about your city, your neighborhood, your job, your studies, nightlife, safety, respect, culture, and politics!
Challenge
Make a video for your friends, classmates, and all other young Rotterdammers that encourages them to go to the polls. Work with the message “That’s why you vote for your city” in a creative and unconventional way and produce your own short live-action or animated film.
In two workshops, you will receive tips and tricks from professionals in the film and advertising world for making your film.
Awards
Is your live-action or animated film the best? Then you win €500. Furthermore, you can see your clip on TV and on screens in the city. There are two categories and therefore two main prizes to be awarded.

If you are between 18 and 25 years old, creative, and have a clear vision for the future of Rotterdam, submit your film idea no later than Monday, January 4, 2010, via the website of Het Portaal. From all submissions, the thirty most compelling, creative, and innovative ideas will be admitted to the competition.
