WIN / WIN is the intriguing feature film debut of Jaap van Heusden (screenplay and direction). In 2005, he graduated from the Film Academy with EEN INGEWIKKELD VERHAAL, EENVOUDIG VERTELD (with Johnny de Mol & Dragan Bakema). The film was shortlisted for an Oscar / Student Academy Award and was selected for AFI and the Cannes Film Festival. The short film ANDERMAN was selected for the Tribecca Film Festival and released in theaters by Cinema Delicatessen. In 2008, he made the One Night Stand TV film OOIT (with Barry Atsma), which was nominated for a Golden Calf for Best Television Drama.
WIN / WIN is produced by IJswater Films in co-production with the NPS.
The world premiere takes place during the International Film Festival Rotterdam. The film has been officially selected for the debutant program 'Bright Future'.

The main roles in WIN / WIN are played by Oscar Van Rompay (Ivan), Leon Voorberg (Stef), Halina Reijn (Deniz), Hans Kesting (Max), and Phi Nguyen (Paul). With his lead role, Flemish actor Oscar Van Rompay makes his film debut. He is a permanent member of Toneelgroep Gent and was nominated in 2009 for the prestigious Dutch theatre award Arlecchino for Best Supporting Actor.
Synopsis
Twenty-three-year-old Ivan (Oscar van Rompay) works as an assistant analyst at an American investment bank in Amsterdam's Zuidas district. He views the sea of numbers flowing past him daily as one big game. One day, he is discovered by seasoned trader Stef (Leon Voorberg), who wants to launch him as his junior. While banks collapse left and right, Ivan rakes in enormous profits in the dealing room and makes a meteoric career. Suddenly, receptionist Deniz (Halina Reijn), who had only secretly observed Ivan until now, takes notice of him. And suddenly, Ivan is living in a swanky apartment just a stone's throw from the bank. From the outside, things are going well for him. He loses his sensitivity, but despite that, he keeps winning until the day he decides to lose everything.
Filming took place in September and October 2009 in Amsterdam and The Hague. WIN / WIN was produced by IJswater Films in co-production with NPS Television as part of the Telefilm Project, which was funded by the CoBO Fund, Public Broadcasting, and the Ministry of Education, Culture and Science.
Cinema Delicatessen will release the film in theaters this spring.
